Cairo - The British Council in Egypt is delighted to announce the recipients of the ‘Grants to Arts’ fund 2015. The aim of the grants is to support young Egyptian artists in all fields. The focus of the grants is on work with communities that may not have a tradition of engaging with arts and cultural activity.
In response to our call, we received 322 applications from Cairo, Alexandria, Minya, Giza, Fayoum, Sharqia, Sohag, New Valley, Port Said and Damietta.

Since its launch in 2011, 102 Egyptian artists have benefited from the Grants to Arts scheme enabling them to produce new work, develop their skills and showcase their work to inspire audiences. Previous grantees engaged in the programme were from Cairo, Assiut, Alexandria, Minya, Damanhour, Mansoura, Qanater, Tanta, Ismailia, Menufeya, Luxor, Qalubia, Sharqia and Siwa.
