Ahmed Osama Abdulrahman’s leadership of project teams was pivotal in achieving the successful start-up of flagship oil, gas & petrochemicals projects in Egypt, which contributed towards meeting domestic energy demand and achieving self-sufficiency. Ahmed is currently participating in Ministry of Petroleum’s modernisation project to unleash the sector’s full potential and fulfil Egypt’s aspirations of becoming an energy hub.

 

Mohamed El-Moghazi

Mohamed El-Moghazi

Professional Achievement Award

University of Strathclyde

Mohamed El-Moghazi is a globally recognised academic author of 28 papers, and one of the few international spectrum management experts with myriad contributions regionally and internationally. He was one of the team that drafted 4G Egyptian licenses awarded for $2 billion.

His UK education has enabled him to secure more frequencies to the Arab and African countries for mobile broadband services at the International Telecommunication Union.

Rehab El-Maghraby

Rehab El-Maghraby (Winner)

Imperial College London

Rehab El-Maghraby is an assistant professor at the faculty of petroleum and mining engineering, Suez University and an adjunct faculty at AUC. After obtaining her PhD, Rehab established a research lab worth £500,000 in just three years in Egypt. The national revenue from this laboratory has a wide pay-off.   

Rehab implemented the techniques and expertise she developed at Imperial College London to generate this fund.

Karim El Safty is a Professional Educator with solid academic Achievement. He completed his Master of International Dispute Resolution from the Faculty of Business & Law, Kingston University, London. Karim is currently working as the Regional Director- Middle East for the International Academy for Advanced Research and Studies – London (IARS).

During his management period IARS's net-profit  in 2017 reached 500 times its payable capital in 2010.

Mahmoud Hafez

Mahmoud Hafez (Winner)

Entrepreneurial Award

University of Leeds

Hafez established ‘SurgiNovi’ to commercially exploit the novel techniques that came out of his PhD project at the University of Leeds. This innovation is called patient specific templates (PST) for total knee replacement. He applied PST on 300 cases including 45 for a charity. His clinical training in Yorkshire hospitals helped in the completion of his Medical Degreeand the publication of more than 60 of his scientific papers.

 

Mohamed Nader Alsayed Ibrahim

Mohamed Nader’s devotion for SME’s finance began when he established his own SME advisory company in 2006. He discovered that banks are reluctant to finance SMEs. Since 2013 Mohamed has followed his dream to create a financial institution for SMEs. After many challenges, in 2017, he acquired a leasing company and restructured it to be an SME-only company.

During his UK studies, Nader also learned how banks in the UK serve SME.

 

Michael Milad Henein Abdalah

Michael Milad Henein Abdalah

University of Bristol

Michael Abdalah is a leading expert in the school health and nutrition field. With his team at Save the Children International/ Egypt. Michael led the process of activating the school health and environment committees in Assiut Governorate. His role is to monitor and support health and environmental services in schools, providing a quality learning environment for around 60,000 students at primary and preparatory schools in Assiut.

Reem became the Executive Manager of Egypt’s largest international multi-disciplinary arts festival, at the age of 22. Within one year of completing her MA in Arts and Festivals Management, she started a social initiative that aimed to make the arts accessible to all, regardless of one's socio-economic status, disability, or ethnicity, while working on international-scale projects overcoming international mobility challenges facing Arab artists.

Usama Ghazali

Coventry University

Usama founded Yadaweya, a social enterprise for heritage and crafts, that focuses on discovering Egyptian craftsmen and providing  local women with access to local and international markets with fair trade policies.

Usama observes that Coventry University provided him with skills and experiences in project management, direct support from supervisors for on-the-job training and involvement in environmental projects in the UK, that have supported his career.
