I wanted to study in the UK and I knew that A-levels would help me to reach this goal

My name is Nader. I am 24 years old and currently work as a mechanical engineer in Denmark. I sat A-levels with the British Council in Egypt in 2004–05.

Why I took A-levels

I took three A-levels – business studies, maths, physics – and an AS-level in chemistry at the Modern English School in Cairo. I wanted to study in the UK and I knew that A-levels would help me to reach this goal.

How taking A-levels with the British Council has helped me

A-levels set me on the right path. They helped me get into my university of choice. I went to the University of Bath in England to study mechanical engineering.

I was also able to match my A-level subjects to the requirements of the course, which meant I arrived with a good foundation of understanding.

What is next for me

I’m now working in Denmark as a mechanical engineering project manager. I hope to continue my career in engineering.
