The British Council in Egypt is pleased to announce the awardees list of Higher Education Partnership for Climate Change Grants.
In Egypt, we proudly collaborate with the Ministry of Education, Al Azhar, Ain Shams University and UNICEF on raising public awareness of environmental issues through embedding English teaching and learning materials in our large scale and bespoke programmes. In doing this, we rely on our Climate Action in Language Education materials, a set of tried and tested professionally produced resources.
The British Council supports climate action in multiple ways across numerous programmes, grants, and partnerships, and each time, we can only marvel at the brilliance and the creativity of our programme participants and partners.
The Climate Connection is a ten-part podcast series from the British Council which explores the relationship between the climate crisis and language education. Across the ten episodes you’ll hear from a wide range from leading practitioners working in the sector, teachers, trainers, researchers, publishers and authors.
Twelve lessons covering a range of levels and age groups, each exploring a different topic, from sports to storms and from families to fashion. They are designed with flexibility in mind, can be integrated within existing curricula and are available in two versions, for classroom-based lessons and online teaching.
This publication provides teachers with a bank of thirty activities, based on ten climate change themes, with step-by-step guidance for each activity. They are an ideal starting point to help to address issues of sustainability in the classroom.
