Hadeel works for the Professional Development and Curriculum Unit at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Jordan. In 2018 she became an ISA Ambassador.

The ISA is given to schools that have shown a commitment to embedding international awareness within classes. As an ambassador Hadeel supports schools to achieve the award.

Through the ISA, Hadeel has visited lots of participating schools to train teachers. British Council training has supported her to develop teachers’ performance in the classroom and to share best practice in teaching critical thinking and creativity.

She has also learned practical techniques to support mental health and well-being, as well as undertaking research about girls’ education in fragile contexts. Hadeel has passed on her learning to the teachers and school leaders she works with, supporting them to build resilience in their learners.

One of the most exciting things about being an ISA Ambassador has been the opportunity to work with national and international partner schools on creative activities and projects, including ideas to introduce the Sustainable Development Goals into lessons.

This experience has given Hadeel a global perspective on education. It has encouraged her to go beyond the curriculum and think creatively about new ways to deliver sustainable, high-quality education. Hadeel has taken this motivation into her day job as a co-ordinator and teacher trainer at the UNRWA.

Hadeel is proud to have supported her eight schools to achieve the ISA, particularly over the challenging last two years. She is now working with a new set of schools, hoping to repeat the success.
