Nizar is an English language teacher from Jordan. He has always enjoyed supporting students and grabs any opportunity to become a better teacher.

That’s why he was so excited to join our Teacher Training Program for English Language Teachers (TTPELT). The six-week online course is aimed at teachers with less than five years’ experience, and builds core skills such as planning, assessment and functional language.

Nizar was especially keen to learn how to support different types of students. He felt confident in his English language skills, but was unsure how to adapt his teaching to meet the diverse needs of his classroom.

The TTPELT introduced him to interactive, student-centred teaching methods, including games, visual learning techniques and digital resources.

It also helped him to understand different learning styles and how best to approach them.

After successfully completing the course, Nizar applied what he had learned in his classroom. He’s noticed that his students are now far more engaged during his lessons, and he feels more confident in his own teaching ability.

The TTPELT also helped to grow Nizar’s professional network. He has built good relationships with other English language teachers in the region as well as teachers at Queen Rania Teacher Academy, which runs the course in partnership with the British Council.

Nizar now enjoys sharing experiences, advice and support with his new peers.
